After tending bait all day, I was 45 minutes from my party's arrival when I checked on them one more time. Dead shad on top. Not good. They started dying quickly right before my eyes. It is hard to keep them alive for 12+ hours in 90 degree water. Jaime had arrived and we had a real dilemma. I have not been able to get bait in the evenings so we made a decision to get a little creative. After much ado, we arrived in a new place and FOUND THE BAIT!!! We dropped 320 big baits in the tank and off we go to pick everyone up. We started the progression of spots and after an hour and a half, we had 8 bass in the boat. We had about 1 hour of good fishing time left and we made a move to an old spot of mine that I recently caught a few fish on. We saw them schooling near but the wind was howling and we could not get them to bite. About 35 minutes left of fishing time and we moved over to where we last saw them school. GAME ON!!! 4 on at a time, a few triples and many doubles...CHAOS! It was a great, crazy little bit of fishing that left everyone with a smile on their face. Looking forward to our next trip for sure.
