- Water temperature - 85-87 degrees
- Target species - Largemouth Bass
- Anglers - Greg and guide party
This day started yesterday. I headed out about 3:00PM to get bait and spent a frustrating 4 hours searching high and low. I finally got more than I needed on the last throw. At least I had a great partner with me. Anyway, met my party at the ramp this morning and off we go with about 200 healthy shad in the tank. I saw the fish on every place we went. The problem was, they were all SUSPENDED! We stuggled mightily. Unbelievable. It was sweltering with no wind and fish that did not want to bite. We ended up with 2 bass, several Pickerel and catfish. I stayed out for a few hours to try for redemption, but aside from some on top at the end of the trip (three really nice ones) I had no luck. Oh well....it's fishing I guess. I enjoyed the company immensely. I am so fortunate to always get to meet enjoyable folks through my business.
Few notes:
- water temp has skyrocketed in the last few days
- suspended fish are really hard to deal with and stump even me
- I knew we were in trouble when even the White Perch would not bite. That was a first.
- I did find the bait, so maybe that will be easier now!
