Plan today was to fish a little big fish tournament from 4-9PM.  We got to the lake early to catch bait.  We saw a school right away and one cast of the net produced about 450 big baits.  We picked out 200 unlucky candidates and off we went.  We tried several new areas and a few old ones and did not catch a bass.  I have never really caught them in May so this was totally expected.  We met up with Jaime who was fishing in his boat and off we all went in search of fame and glory and a whopping $160 first place purse.  We tried going shallow and actually caught a few bass.  They were in the slot so we kept fishing.  We made a friend along the way....although he would just as soon been left alone.

A storm then decided to try and kill everyone on the lake.  After that passed, we fished for another 45 minutes.  David got one that was 19.999 inches long and that sealed our fate.  We did catch 5-6 bass and a bunch of other species so it was pretty fun overall.  Now it is time for a few weeks off to let the bass get to the offshore areas and then it is time to start the 2009 guide season.  It is going to be a great one!!!
